Coached Swim


Coached Swim through Tri Fitness is for everyone … from beginner to Ironman.

Our accomplished coaches will work with you to define your goals, whether you are just jumping in for the first time or you plan on swimming across the English Channel.

Our swim sessions cover it all:

  • Drills (to improve technique)
  • Skill sets
  • Speed sets
  • Endurance sets

Every session is designed to improve your form and efficiency.  You''ll leave a better swimmer than when you entered!

Plus, get motivated by swimming with other like-minded athletes.

Monday:  No classes

Tuesday:  6:00am, 6:30 pm

Wednesday:  12:00pm

Thursday:  6:30pm (This is a Tri Club swim session)

Friday:  No classes

Saturday:  6:30am

Unless otherwise noted, the swims are held at Xperience Fitness in Vadnais Heights (map).

Drop-Ins are welcome and encouraged.  Cash or checks are accepted. Drop In fee is $22.50 OR you can also pick up a 10-pack of swim sessions for only $175. MEET OUR AWESOME SWIM COACHES...

Kristen Bjorklund - CKTT Certified Kinesio-Taping Technician, Swim Coach

Hometown: Shoreview, MN

Some of my Favorites: Swimming, water skiing, spending a warm summer day out on our family boat, animals, running, traveling to new places, and watching movies on stomy nights. 

Fitness Background: This Spring I graduated from Bethel University with a Biokinetics major. I have been competitively swimming since 4th grade and continued until my junior year in college. I have been active my whole life and tried pretty much every sport, but swimming was always my favorite! I am currently employed at Tri Fitness where I work to train clients in and out of the pool.

 

Andrew Turner - Tri Coach, Swim Coach

Hometown: Scandia, MN, now living in Saint Paul.

Some of my favorites: Anything outside, count me in. Besides swimming, biking, and running, I love to go backpacking in Colorado and Minnesota, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, and recently started kayaking. I started to hit the trail running and biking this year, nice change of pace every once and awhile. I love to set difficult goals and push the limits to see if I can achieve them.

Fitness Background: Growing up, I was involved in every sport you could think of. Eventually I found swimming and cross country and fell in love. My cousin introduced me to long distance cycling, and since then it is hard to get me off a bike. My main focus is long distance triathlons, but in the last few years I have gotten into road bike racing and cyclocross racing.

20+ Triathlons from sprints to Ironman with many age group wins, one amateur overall win, and multiple top ten overall finishes.

2010 Ironman World Championship; PR 9:52

Competitive in multiple road bike and cyclocross races yearly.

Currently working on my USA Triathlon coaching and USA Cycling certifications.

2 years of coaching experience with triathletes.
