J.A.M.S.
Juniors Active in Multi-Sport

Attend our Kick-Off Event!
February 25, 2012
11am - 1pm
Tri Fitness Training Center
1340 Highway 96 East
White Bear Lake, MN (get directions)
As a parent, you know it's difficult to get kids moving. They'd rather play a video game than do anything that makes them sweat.
We want to help change that, in a way that keeps our youngsters engaged and interested in physical fitness.
At our Kick-Off Event, learn more about the J.A.M.S. program and meet our trainers. We’ll be proving some fun activities and food, too!

If you sign your child up for the program by Thursday, March 1st, they will be eligible to win a new 2Four Blue youth bike, an incredible $1500 value! Click here for all the details on the bike and here for a review from Bicycling magazine. |
J.A.M.S. is a youth athletics program. We bring kids together to discover fun and healthy physical activity, teaching:
- Coordination
- Motor skills
- Endurance
We’re committed to developing opportunities for Juniors of all ages and abilities. Your child will learn lifetime physical skills through youth- appropriate:
- Training
- Nutrition
- Fun!

For older Juniors or those with more-advanced skills, our Elite team program is available for competition at a higher level.
Mission statement:
The Tri Fitness JAMS Club will provide a supportive environment where youths aged 3-17, of all athletic abilities, can learn the life-long sports of running and triathlon. Youths will have the opportunity to learn new skills, set and achieve goals, meet friends and most of all have fun!
Philosophy:
We're dedicated to motivating the youth in our community by giving them the opportunity to learn proper nutrition and participate in athletics regardless of ability level.
We want to inspire and educate all youth about the fundamental importance of life-long physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to facilitate the development of each individual in order to reach his/her potential. In doing this the youth will develop positive feelings of self-worth and the worth of others, all while having a great deal of fun.
Objectives:
- Encourage the youth in our community to learn life-long fitness and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Allow all youth to participate regardless of ability, and to reach out to youth who may not have normally participated in sports.
- Teach healthy lifestyle basics
- Encourage youth to create and work towards individual goals.
- Inspire youth to support other participants.
- Educate in a exciting and motivating way so youth have fun.
Program Details:
The initial months are designed to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. As they progress they will begin to bike, swim and run. They will do bike/run combinations, transitions and learn other skills in preparation for a triathlon.
March – May | Saturdays 11:00 am – 12:00 pm | Tri Fitness Training Center
Kids will work on agility, core, stability, speed and flexibility. These sessions will be outside if the weather permits or inside if not.
June - August | Tuesdays 6:30 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am | Locations are weather-dependent
Kids will work on swimming, biking, running, transitions, nutrition and stability. These will be held outside as long as the weather permits.
Each month there will be a pizza party or movie night!
March has 5 training days (but we understand many families will be away for Spring Break). April has 4 sessions and May has 3 (due to Memorial Day). As we get into June, there will be 9 training days, July has 7, and August has 9. Therefore there are a total of 36 days of training.
We will take kids of all abilities but they should be able to swim approximately 25 yards on their own and will need a bike.
Parents will be emailed before each session on what to bring and where to meet.
