Vicki Ostendorf

Founder, NASM Certified Trainer, Certified Myofascial Release, CKTT Certified Kinesio-Taping Technician, USAT Level 1 and Long course, & Certified Ironman University Coach

Certified Personal Trainer since: Now I’m dating myself…1990

Some of my favorites: Lifting, swimming, biking and running. A great glass of wine with friends (although I have been known to have a glass or two without friends). Jude’s cooking. Our 3 dogs. 

Fitness Background: I am a Certified Personal Trainer, USA Triathlon Certified Coach, and RRCA Certified Coach. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse University with a degree in Corporate Fitness, a Minor in business as well as coaching. I spent 4 years playing outfield for the women’s fastpitch softball team in LaCrosse. Shortly after graduating, I realized that I really loved torturing individuals on an ongoing basis, so personal training seemed to be the perfect fit!

Pete Ellis

Trainer/Coach, Certified Cycling Power Coach

 

When I am not chasing my kids around the house, pool, and everywhere else, you can find me chasing PRs on the bike. I was a mere mortal (and still am) when I started triathlon three years ago, but I found success in one rule: always listen to my coach. I have competed in a variety of disciplines from sprint tri, 24hr ultra biking, time trial, marathon, and everything in between.

I am very excited to get the opportunity to coach spin and I am looking forward to lending a unique perspective to life on the trainer in the off season. I am well versed in improving position on the bike, power output, interval training, bike handling, bike tech, and maintenance. My ultimate hope is to help my students achieve their training and racing goals while remaining healthy and excited about triathlon.

Sharon Heyer

Coach

 

As a coach my goal is to help athletes improve their skills and fitness while learning more about themselves, their abilities, and the sport of triathlon. I value commitment, teamwork, hard work, a willingness to learn, passion, fun, and perspective.  I am excited to help athletes have fun while working hard and reaching their goals!

Experience:

  • 6 Marathons, including Boston Marathon 2015 and 2016, with PR of 3:22
  • 4 years of running cross country and track at Luther College
  • 4 Years coaching 7-8 Girls Track
  • 2 IMWI
  • 1 Big Heart for Athletes!

Favorite things: Going on adventures with my husband and our 4 children. Triathlon training with friends.

Fitness Background: I was very active in sports as a child, but as I moved past high school I became less active. After my 3rd child I began my athletic journey again. I did 3 marathons before doing my first triathlon. I was hooked after my first one. I love participating in 3 sports. Along the way I have made plenty of mistakes, mostly on nutrition. I began researching sports nutrition and became frustrated by the lack of and contradicting information. I decided to get my sports nutrition certification to help others avoid the mistakes I have made. My goal is to help athletes utilize nutrition and hydration to have the best race they can achieve.


Nita Martin

Certified Yoga Teacher/Coach

My name is Nita Martin, I have been practicing yoga for the past 7 years and finally last year decided I was ready to study myself deeper. I took my 200 hour yoga teacher certification at Upward Facing Dawn School of Yoga in Coon Rapids last year!  It was the best thing I ever did for myself! Yoga is so much more than the asana (pose).

I teach a wide variety of yoga. I can kick your butt with a mean yoga sculpt, we can flow with a vinyasa style class, or we can be more still in a gentle flow yin style class. 

My personal quote is "I am your guide, let your body and your breath be your teacher." ~ Nita

My hobbies include running, biking, yoga & self-improvement! 

My favorite quote is from Steve Prefontaine, "To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift!"  

Whatever you do, just do your best in any given situation, and move on knowing you have your best. Do not dwell on the past, it is depressive & it's no longer here...do not look to the future it may cause anxiety that will never manifest, live & breathe right now! This is the only time we have!
