Open Water Swim Skills

Many athletes overlook open water swim skills and, as a result, bad things happen in the water.  This 6 week series will work on:

  1. Sighting
  2. Swimming in water that you can’t see the bottom/dark water swimming
  3. Mass starts
  4. Swimming in chaos
  5. Swimming without walls to push off of
  6. Varied temperatures
  7. Wetsuit swimming
  8. Transitions out of the water
  9. Entry/exit of the water
  10. Drafting
  11. Swimming around a buoy

Who:

This clinic is designed for anyone who has never learned how to swim in the open water or those who are interested in learning how to improve their technique and skills in open water swimming.

When:

The next 6 week series begins on Sunday, April 17th, 2016. Drop ins are welcome.

Where:

Forest Lake Southwest Jr. High School (map) and final session on May 22nd will be in the open water

Why:

Our experienced swim coaches will be able to help you get the most out of your swim, helping you to develop an efficient and effective open water swim that will lead you to a better overall race.

Cost:

$150 for 6 weeks or $25 for drop in
